Is it worth buying Apple iPhone 7 in 2019 / 2020 ?

As you may have noticed, Apple iPhone 7 is on offer online in India. You can grab it for a good deal price of Rs 24,999 now ( 32GB model ). Is it worth buying for that price in 2019 / 2020 ?

 Let's look at iPhone 7 Specs first

  • 4.7 inch Retina HD display
  • 12MP main camera with F1.8 aperture
  • 7MP F2.2 front camera
  • IP67 Certified
  • 4K recording support
For Rs 24,999, you can now get a lot of great Android Smartphones with far better specs than iPhone 7. So skip this and get one of those better Android smartphones.

Wait a minute, my friend said "iPhone is iPhone", "iPhone has the best camera", "iPhone has the best display", so don't you think iPhone 7 is a better buy than many of those Android smartphones ?

Well, iPhone flagship ones - iPhone 11 pro series do come with best displays and cameras, but that's priced much higher at Rs 99,999. iPhone 7 do not even have a Full HD display which has now become common on even low end Rs 10000 Android smartphones. Most Android smartphones now ship with Dual and Triple cameras - Telephoto lenses or Ultra wide angle lenses. With iPhone 7, you are just stuck with a single 12MP sensor. 

Apple A10 chipset, even though old, is still a good performer. So, on a 4.7 HD display, you can sure enjoy a lag free experience most of the time. Also, since Apple is very good at updating their older gen phones, you can also experience the latest iOS 13 operating system on iPhone 7.

Is it a value for money device ? Answer is No. But if you want to experience iOS for the first time on a descent device, which can shoot 4K videos, and is easy to carry around thanks to it's compact size, iPhone 7 will suit you.

[ FIX ] Ubuntu 20.04 Bluetooth doesn't Turn On

I have been using a Logitech Bluetooth keyboard for a while now with my Ubuntu 20.04. Everything worked well without any issues until one day the operating system refused to turn on the Bluetooth. I could toggle Bluetooth On button from the Settings, but it did nothing.  After spending some time Google Searching why my Bluetooth started not working all of a sudden, and after trying a variety of commands to troubleshoot the problem, I finally found a working fix for this issue. Open a Terminal ( Ctrl + Alt + T )  and enter below commands one after another.  sudo rmmod btusb sudo modprobe btusb That's it. Your Bluetooth issue would be now solved.  I can guarantee you this problem is going to pop-up every now and then. So copy the above commands to a text file for future uses. Sometimes, even after entering above commands the bluetooth would refuse to turn on. In such cases, just Suspend the system and then wake up it again and check.
