Google is officially launching Pixel 4A in India online on Flipkart. It will be available to purchase from Oct 16th onwards part of the Big Billion Days Sale. The expected price is around Rs 29,999. In the US, this sells for $349 for the base model which is 50$ cheaper than the iPhone SE 2020.
Oct 9 update: Flipkart has announced Pixel 4A First Sale Date: October 16th, 2020. It will be available for an offer price of Rs 29,999 ( limited stock ). The MRP price is Rs 31,999.
Let's have a look at the specs.
Google Pixel 4A is a mid-range Android smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 730G octa-core processor. Do not confuse this with the more powerful 5G Snapdragon 765G chipset. 4A only supports 4G / 3G Networks. It comes with 6GB of ram and has 128GB of storage. Google has equipped this with a 3140mAh battery. It comes with just a single 12MP sensor at the back.
If you compare the specs and the price with other Android smartphones available to purchase in India, you can clearly see the Pixel 4A is not a value for money device. For Rs 24,999, you can get the base OnePlus Nord 5G with multiple rear cameras as well as the faster Snapdragon 865+ chipset. There are plenty of other smartphones as well in this price range offering much better specs than the Pixel 4A. So why should you consider buying 4A over the others?
There are a few reasons one should consider getting the 4A instead of other smartphones.
Stock Android Experience: Almost every other Android smartphone, except the Nokia ones, ships with a modified Android version. If you like Vanilla, unaltered Android on your smartphone, Pixel 4A is currently the best you can get in India ( The newer Pixel 5 and Pixel 4A 5G won't be releasing in India any soon )
Updates every month: Pixel 4A will be one of the first smartphones to get Android 12 as well as Android 13. You also will get 3 years of monthly security updates directly from Google servers.
