Since this is a gaming phone, Asus has put a lot of effort to keep temperatures in check so the CPU don't have to throttle down. It comes with 2nd Gen Game Cool II cooling system with a newly designed 3D vapor chamber which Asus claims is much more effective in removing heat from the phone during high intense operation. In addition to this, Asus is also introducing a new Aero Active cooler II that can fit over the new Aero Case, which features redesigned fan blades that helps to cool ROG Phone II more effectively during heavy, extended use.
At the heart of the Rog Phone 2, it's Qualcomm's latest processor - Snapdragon 855 Plus. It's a slightly more powerful variant of SD855. This is one of the first phones to ship with this chipset. In all likely, the upcoming OnePlus 7T Pro will also feature the same chipset.
