Huawei has finally decided to launch Honor 9X in India. It will be available soon online from Flipkart. MRP price expected is under 15K. Check out the Teaser page here.
Many potential customers would be wondering if the newer Honor 9X comes with Google Apps and Play Store. The answer is YES. This is because Honor 9X was certified before Trump administration banned US companies from having trade relationships with Huawei.
Honor 9X is a mid-range smartphone powered by Hisilicon Kirin 710 Octacore processor. It comes with a bezel-less design with a pop-up selfie camera. On the back, it features a Triple Camera system.
The 9X and 9X Pro launched in China are slightly different from the Indian Honor 9X Variant. The chinese variants have Kirin 810 processor on board. Original 9X also didn't come with a triple camera setup, for that you would have to get the 9X Pro. In India, Honor has combined those variants to create a new model.
The display on the 9X is a Full HD+ IPS LCD screen. I have been using this phone for a while now and i can tell you the display is bright enough to see clearly under direct sunlight. However, color accuracy is not great. You can go into Display settings and change the color tones to your liking though.
The main camera on the back is a 48MP F1.8 sensor made by Sony. We have seen this sensor on many phones in past year and is quite a good high megapixel shooter. By default, it uses 4-in-1 Super Pixel feature and takes 12MP shots to achieve better image quality and dynamic range. I would recommend you leave it at 12MP as the 48MP files are quite big and can quickly fill up your storage.
In addition to the 48MP sensor, there are two other lenses available - 8MP ultra wide angle lens and a 2MP depth sensor to help with bokeh / portrait shots.
Honor 9X comes with a 4000mAh battery. There is no special Fast Charge option available. Thanks to the many optimization Huawei has done over the years, the battery consumption is quite excellent.
Honor 9X ships with EMUI 9.1 based on Android 9 Pie. It will get EMUI 10 based on Android 10 after the launch.
