Google Photos doesn't show Photo Folders on Sdcard / Pendrive [ Solutions ]

When you copy some new folders on to your sdcard or OTG USB pendrive, and plug it in to your Android smartphone, Google Photos often fail to show them in the image gallery. There are a few things you can try to fix this.

  1. Open Google Photos App on your Phone and click on 'Device Folders' from the side menu. Plug in your USB OTG pendrive after that and wait for a few minutes for the app to populate the images on the external storage in the Photo Gallery
  2. If the above doesn't work at all, Go to Apps and Find 'Media Storage'. Clearing Data of that particular app will force the Android system to repopulate the Gallery. Close the Google photos app and open it again. It will take some time for the process to complete. 
If the above solutions do not work, the issue you are facing would be because of the following
  1. Your External Storage - Sdcard or USB OTG pendrive have a lot of high quality files or DNG RAW files and the Android system is taking time to generate thumbnails for those files in the Gallery. So newer Folders will have to wait until that process is complete. ( This is a just a theory btw - but from my experience removing a big folder with dng files fixed issue with other jpeg folders in the drive )
  2. Your External storage is VERY slow and Google Photos and the system are taking ages to scan and add new photos to the Gallery.

[ FIX ] Ubuntu 20.04 Bluetooth doesn't Turn On

I have been using a Logitech Bluetooth keyboard for a while now with my Ubuntu 20.04. Everything worked well without any issues until one day the operating system refused to turn on the Bluetooth. I could toggle Bluetooth On button from the Settings, but it did nothing.  After spending some time Google Searching why my Bluetooth started not working all of a sudden, and after trying a variety of commands to troubleshoot the problem, I finally found a working fix for this issue. Open a Terminal ( Ctrl + Alt + T )  and enter below commands one after another.  sudo rmmod btusb sudo modprobe btusb That's it. Your Bluetooth issue would be now solved.  I can guarantee you this problem is going to pop-up every now and then. So copy the above commands to a text file for future uses. Sometimes, even after entering above commands the bluetooth would refuse to turn on. In such cases, just Suspend the system and then wake up it again and check.
